Wizz Air officially establishes its base at Zvartnots airport
On October 1, the official opening ceremony of Hungarian Wizz Air’s base took place at Zvartnots International Airport.
The event was attended by Wizz Air Managing Director Roland Tischner, RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan, Chair of the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy Lusine Gevorgyan, Director of “Armenia” International Airports” CJSC Marcelo Wende, General Manager Sergey Avetisyan, and other officials.
Two modern Airbus A321neo aircrafts will be based at Zvartnots Airport. Compared to previous-generation aircrafts, these planes offer 20% lower fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions, as well as 50% noise reduction.
Wizz Air is launching 8 new European destinations from Yerevan: Prague, (launched), Hamburg (launched), Naples (launched), Paris Beauvais (from October 2), Paphos (from October 2), Bari (from October 26), Bucharest (from October 26), Memmingen (from October 28).
In total, Wizz Air will operate flights from Yerevan to 16 destinations across 9 countries.
