Wizz Air bases its third aircraft at Zvartnots and launches two new destinations to Netherlands and Belgium



Today, on March 27, press conference of the Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air was held at Zvartnots International Airport.

During the event, Ian Malin, Chief Commercial Officer at Wizz Air, presented the airline’s future development and expansion plans in Armenia. In October of this year, the airline will base its third aircraft at Zvartnots International Airport. 

At the same time, the launch of two new destinations was announced:

  1. Yerevan–Eindhoven (Netherlands)–Yerevan: launch from October 26 of the current year, with a frequency of three flights per week, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday,
  2. Yerevan–Charleroi (Belgium)–Yerevan: launch from February 1, 2027, with a frequency of three flights per week, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

Comments at the event were delivered by Armen Simonyan, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia, Lusine Gevorgyan, Chairperson of the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, Stepan Payaslyan, Deputy Head of RA CAC, Marcelo Wende, Director of “Armenia” International Airports”, Marieke Monroy-Winter, Ambassador of Netherlands to Armenia.

Overall, Wizz Air will operate flights from Armenia on 18 routes to 10 countries.
